My very own "Team 25"

I love number 25 so much because it was the day I am born to this world. Not many reason to explain that, but it remains my only number. So I guess can I form a football team which consists of players who donned number 25 in their respective club.

My football team, I called it "Team 25", all the players will don number 25 at their back but play at different position all the way from a goalkeeper to the strikers. 

Finding a goalkeeper with that squad number was a challenge. Christian Alvarez of Espanyol in La Liga was one of a few keepers who donned 25 shirts. But I’m not choosing him..There is better option for me at Premier League!! Look at my entire “team of 25”.

I start with goalkeeper position up till striker. My choice of goalkeeper, Joe Hart, on loan at Birmingham, owned by Manchester City. A waste of talent if he remains at Man City next season.

Joe Hart (Goalkeeper)

He made his debut in Birmingham's opening match of the season, a 1–0 defeat away to Manchester United. Hart starred in Birmingham club-record 12-match unbeaten run in the top division. His sharp judgment, reflexes and a lack of fear for Birmingham was awarded with a place in the PFA Team of the Year. Wenger is considering an £8m bid for the young Man City keeper, who has had a great season out on loan at Birmingham City. 

Daniele Bonera (Defender- Right)

Initially, Bonera was signed from Parma to fill the void left by the departure of Jaap Stam at Milan. This season, due to a string of poor performances, Bonera was demoted to the bench. He lost his place as starting right back once  Zambrotta, Luca Antonini and Massimo Oddo all returned from injury. He is still a world class defender though, no doubt.

Mario Melchiot (Defender- Left)

Mario Melchiot, Wigan Atletic captain, became a fan-favourite at the JJB, and made Latics history when he became the first Wigan player to play in a major international tournament by coming on for the Netherlands against Romania at the UEFA Euro 2008 tournament. He may be in a team fighting with relegation, but his experience in defence alone was good enough to be chosen in my team!

Walter Samuel (Defender- Centre)

Walter Samuel is widely regarded as one of the best central defenders around. Nicknamed 'The Wall' for obvious reasons, Samuel joined Inter after a season at Real Madrid. Samuel is one of the more under-recognised world-class centre-backs. His partnership with Lucio at the heart of the backline has been crucial to Inter’s strong defensive record this term. 

Against Chelsea in Champion Leagues quarter final last month, Lucio steals the show in the first leg and teaches John Terry and company a few things about how to be a world class ball playing central defender, then the second leg was about Samuel teaching the Premier League defenders how to combat the beast that is Didier Drogba.

Stephen Warnock

(Defender- Centre)

Warnock has impressed this season after a moving from Blackburn to Villa in a £7million move last August and that form earned him a place in Capello's squad for the meeting with Brazil in November, although he was an unused substitute. He can also defend and he does not shirk a tackle. He has a lot of attributes that a left-back should have. Warnock can get up and support play and has a fantastic left foot.

Luis Antonio Valencia (Midfield -Right)

Valencia became Manchester United's first summer signing this season. The winger had been tracked by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson for some time and had also been watched by other European powerhouses including Real Madrid. He moved to Old Trafford after having played 89 games for the Latics, scoring seven Premier League goals.

Valencia was signed to replace Christiano Ronaldo that summer. The Ecuadorian may not possess the technical originality of his Portuguese predecessor, and his goalscoring contribution, but he has genuine pace and a cool head. Valencia proves to us that he can keep getting behind his marker and directing his crosses to make the most of Rooney's timing, positioning and aerial power.

Diego Perotti 

(Midfield -Left)

Plays mainly as a left winger who can play with both feet, he can also appear as an attacking midfielder. In 2009 Perotti was promoted to the first team and he received his first call-up for the Argentine national team in a friendly match against Spain. In Sevilla, Perotti won the battle with Capel, and became Sevilla's first-choice in his position, starting the season on a high note. 

Spanish giants Real Madrid are planning to swoop for Sevilla winger Diego Perotti at the end of this season. Real are looking for a back-up player for Cristiano Ronaldo (if he's injured) and see the 21-year-old Perotti as the perfect apprentice. 

Maroune Fellaini 

(Midfield -Centre)

After rejected advances from Manchester United, Fellaini signed for Everton in September 2008 on a five year deal from Standard Liège for an initial transfer fee of £12 million rising to £15 million. Fellaini fared well in his first season, playing in midfield and as an emergency striker. He scored 9 goals and despite receiving a spate of harshly awarded bookings he was named Young Player of the Season by the fans.

Christian Gentner (Midfield -Centre)

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger once claimed he has found Francesc Fabregas' ideal central midfield partner, Wolfsburg's Christian Gentner. Gentner has operated in midfield for Wolfsburg since 2007. He had a crucial part in the club's claim for the Bundesliga title. After the end of his contract with Wolfsburg on 1 July 2010, Gentner will return to VfB Stuttgarton a free transfer. On 8 January 2010, Gentner signed a contract until the summer of 2013 with VfB Stuttgart.

Thomas 

Müller 

(Forward) 

Bayern Munich striker Thomas Müller has impressed so many people that many - including German national team coach Joachim Löw - think he could play at the 2010 World Cup. He may be only 20-year-old but striker Thomas Müller is already creating a huge buzz throughout Germany. 

Müller plays with both feet and is strong in the air. During last night Champion Leagues semi final match against Lyon, Muller provided the assist for the opener when he was picked out by Arjen Robben and laid the ball back for Olic to spin and crash home a decisive strike.

Emmanuel Adebayor (Striker)

Emmanuel Adebayor, African Footballer of the Year for 2008 is no doubt my team star attraction. He cheated death when Togo national team's bus came under a gunfire attack on the way to the African Cup of Nations in Angola. Roberto Mancini is set to sell Adebayor (scored 13 goals in 28 appearances) this summer to fund the purchase of Fernando Torres (nonsense!)
